In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, why not show yourself some love this February by taking care of yourself at the Pitt Vaccination and Health Connection Hub?
In addition to flowers, candy and cards, this is often the time for swapping germs. This winter, the usual respiratory viruses have been on the rise. There’s still time to get protected.
The Pitt Vaccination and Health Connection Hub offers interprofessional care right on campus, at 4041 Fifth Avenue. Students, faculty, staff and community members, including children, can get needed immunizations or travel health consults.
Take care of potential health problems before they occur by taking advantage of the Hub’s free wellness screenings for Pitt employees who have UPMC insurance through Pitt. They will check your height/weight/BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose, and counsel you on how to be proactive about your health.
If you’re planning to travel internationally for spring break or a study abroad program, make sure you care for yourself when you are travelling by coming to the Hub for a travel consult to help you figure out what vaccines are needed for your destination.
And the Hub can even do pop-up events in campus buildings, said Melissa McGivney, the Hub’s executive director.
To make appointments or for more information, contact the Hub through its website at healthhub.pitt.edu or by calling 1-412-383-4372. Walk-ins are also accepted.
